OVERVIEW
In 2021, Cebu Pacific, one of the largest airlines in the Philippines, relaunched its app and website to make booking and check-in easier for passengers.
As part of the team at And A Half, I was in charge of designing the icon system for the new platform and handled all of the motion, working alongside illustrated characters created to bring warmth and ease to every step of the journey.

CREATIVE CHALLENGES
Flying can be stressful, and the platform needed to guide people through it with clarity and a little joy.
The icons had to do a lot of quiet work, helping with navigation, giving instructions, and drawing attention where it mattered, while staying readable at every size and feeling like they belonged to the same friendly world as the illustrations.

MY ROLE
I led the iconography from the ground up, figuring out how the system should work and designing different icons for different uses and sizes.
I took inspiration from the Cebu Pacific logo and brand font, borrowing their semi-pointed edges and rounded corners so the icons felt unmistakably part of the brand, then made them curvier and friendlier with just enough personality to match the illustrations. I also brought the icons and illustrations to life through motion, giving the platform a sense of movement that fits an airline.
THE RESULTS
The icon system launched with Cebu Pacific’s new digital platform in 2021, giving passengers a clearer, friendlier way through booking and check-in. What I’m proudest of is how small the icons are and how much they carry: each one is simple enough to read at a glance but still feels like it came from the same brand as the logo on the plane.
