Letters in 3D and Motion

OVERVIEW

36 Days of Type is a collection of daily motion experiments using the boundaries of letter forms.

One letterform a day for 36 days. 3D, animated, set to dance with ethereal sound bites. I went in with no theme and no plan, just crossed my fingers and hoped it would all make sense in the end. And it did: liquid chrome, glass, light. An alphabet made entirely of things I love.

CREATIVE CHALLENGES

36 days of showing up is its own kind of design problem.

And somewhere in the grind, the real lesson arrived uninvited: ship the letter at 90% of what you imagined, or polish it into the next day. That one turned out to apply to more than type.

MY ROLE

Every letter modeled, lit, and animated by hand, no generative anything, because the whole point was the reps, and honestly, the joy.

Each form treated like a small character: how it enters, how it catches the light, how it moves against the sound. Some letters fought me for days. Those are the ones I love most now.

THE RESULTS

Done and dusted. A type community that cheered louder than I expected. And a 3D and motion practice that now runs quietly under everything I make for clients, built one stubborn letter at a time.
